Pastor Mike
Pastor Mike DeCoursey came to Bethel as a part-time interim pastor in June of 2005 and was voted in as full-time minister in February, 2008. He has been married to the former Karen Hedden of Petersburg, IN for over thirty years. They have three sons, two daughter-in-laws, and four grandchildren. His wife, Karen, serves as Bethel's Choir director and is employed by the Gibson-Pike Warrick Special Ed Co-Op as a Special Education teacher. Pastor Mike is a graduate of the University of Evansville and is currently a student at the Chapman Seminary at Oakland City University. He retired at the end of 2006 from Hoosier Energy's Merom Generating Station where he was the Senior Buyer. Pastor Mike was appointed full-time interim pastor of Bethel in January, 2007. Pastor Shayne
Shayne Spurgeon was voted in as Bethel's first youth pastor in October, 2010. Shortly afterwards, he and his wife became parents to a beautiful daughter named Eden. He has been doing great job of reaching out to the youth of Bethel and the community. He has a lot of great ideas to help draw the youth closer to God and equip them to reach out to others.

Lesa Houghland

Ebony Chancellor
Ebony has been working hard at and doing a good job of keeping the church looking its best. Ebony has two children, Austin and Nichole.

Karen DeCoursey
Karen DeCoursey, wife of our illustrious Pastor Mike, is the worship leader for Bethel church. She plans the music for worship services each Sunday as well as directs the Bethel choir. If you have any requests or questions, please contact the church office.

Jim Strange
Jim Strange is our groundskeeper. He retired from a 30-year career as a coal miner and has been hard at work on our grounds ever since. Our grounds never looked so good.

Church Council

The church council consists of nine members of Bethel church who work hard to meet the needs of the church. They meet the second Monday evening of each month. The council members are John Trotter-President, Kevin Hammelman-Vice president, Herman Tilly-Treasurer, Mary Ann Miller-secretary, John Koenig, Scott Page, Gordon Clinkenbeard, John Spanger and Rowe Sargent.
